Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do you welcome beginners?
A. Yes - we welcome beginners, intermediates, and experienced students.

Q. Your class fee is £4 per class, is there a membership fee?
A. No - the £4 class fee is the only price you pay

Q. Do I need any equipment to train?
A. For the first few sessions we have equipment you can use, all you need to bring is a drink and a towel
- If you decide to continue training you will want to consider buying your own.

Q. What equipment should I buy if I decide I want to continue training?
A. Please see the "Want to train?" section for this information

Q. I hear people get injured in Muay Thai, is this likely to happen to me?
A. Muay Thai is a contact sport, so light bruising is possible, we use a selection of protective equipment to prevent injury

Q. How fit do I need to be to start?
A. You can start at any level of fitness, but a visit to your doctor before starting any fitness regime is adviseable.

Q. I see that your club attends inter-club events and competitions, will I be expected to enter these, or can I just train to get fit?
A. We do not expect or pressure any student(s) to enter inter-club events, or to fight, and if you want to train to keep/get fit, to protect yourself, or to compete, this is entirely your choice.
