If you are thinking of starting Muay Thai then there are many reasons to give it a go, but the main two are:
  • Keep Fit
  • Self Defence
Muay Thai is a physically demanding sport, however the basics can be picked up relatively quickly, which does give a lot of encouragement to many beginners, and the rush, and excitement is addictive, the finer points of the techniques can take a long time to learn.

The best thing to do at first is come along and see what it entails, speak to the instructors and even some of the students.

When you finally decide that you would like to train, you will need a T-shirt and shorts/Joggers to start off with, and about 1-2 litres of water to drink during and after training, also as an optional extra you may want a towel to wipe down with.

At first training should be a challenge, and may appear to be physically more demanding than you can handle, but stay with it, as it does get easier.

When you’ve tried a couple of classes and decided you’d like to continue training, you should consider purchasing the following essential training equipment.

All equipment can be purchased by yourself from sports/martial arts shops or from the club
